Lynx (Lynx lynx) is a unique animal, with that original "trademark" appearance that one hardly can forget, with those massive paws, tuft of hair on their eartips and short tail. Lynxes are perfect predators, same as the other members of the feline club.
Still lynx isn't an ideal pet that you can keep inside your house, open-air cages are much more preferrable. It is quite possible to purchase a lynx kitten from breeding facility and bring it up in a way it has a rather good temper. Nevertheless, the wild cat instincts are impossible to extinguish, lynxes are quite destructive animals as well as active and big in size. We shall attempt to unfold to you all the pros and contras of keeping a lynx at our channel, yet it isn't our goal, BobCatTV is a public page devoted to our beloved pets.
Speaking of subspecies. Subspecies are always difficult to identify visually, as morphological data is rarely need: the molecular data or knowledge of the area where the individual lynx had been found is more important by far. In our case the lynxes were bred in captivity, so all this information and factors was left behind a long time ago. However one can appeal to method of exclusion. It is hard to imagine Caucasian, Carpathin, Turkestani, Balcan or Far East lynxes being kept in the zoos or nurseries. Not being said that many subspecies aren't in phylogeny. Yakukutian Umka may quite likely appear to be Lynx Lynx wrangely, Martin most likely is Altaian and Hannah obviously possesses traits of an European lynx. We always judge by the appearance of their parents, because young individuals might change colours+season
